Introduction
Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute Sarabai is a well known name in the sphere of education. Dearth of higher professional education has driven RTTI to provide the best possible education with a vision to strengthen the very base of Education System by providing value based education.
The institute is managed by Bharitya Education Society, which is a registered Society under the Society, ACT 1860. The society is working in the field of Education and social upliftment through various formal and informal ways.
The Institute is situated in the lap of nature with peaceful and pollution free environment. The Institute has all modern facilities such as good classrooms, playground, seminar hall, labs for different facilities, computer room, yoga room, indoor games, sports room, gym, retiring room, guest room and canteen.
The Institute is situated in the HPSEB colony which is adjacent to the NH-21 (Chandigarh-Manali) and only 1km from Bhuntar Airport and 10 Km from the main kullu town. Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute got the approval from the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh to run the B.Ed. course through letter No. EDN-A-CHHA (7)-6/99 VOL-II dated 25th Nov. 2002. The National council of Teacher Education Jaipur recognized through letter No. NRC/ NCTE/HP-79/2015-113644-49 dated 16th June, 2015. Rameshwari Teacher Training Institute is affiliated to H.P. University Shimla.
The Institute is also running other courses in Education such as B.P.Ed i.e. Bachelor of Physical Education and D.El.Ed (formerly known as JBT) i.e. Diploma in Elementary Education. These courses are recognized by the NCTE (NRC) Govt. of India and affiliated to H.P. University, Shimla and Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education, Dharamshala respectively.
Courses Offered by the Institute in Education are:
• Bachelor of Education B.Ed.: Two Years Programme.
• Bachelor of Physical Education B.P.Ed.: Two Years Programme.
• Diploma in Elementary Education D.El.Ed (JBT): Two Years Programme.
Building and Infrastructure:
The institute has a well – furnished building with regularly updated facilities. There are separate blocks for each department. Each department has well equipped labs and advanced technical support system. The college building has number of Laboratories for specific teaching subjects and more. Given below is the list of amenities available at the campus:
Library:
The Collage library consists of a collection of over 4000 books that includes text books, reference books, encyclopedias, online content, jurnals, Magazines. Library has seating capacity of 50 students at a time and is spacious with sufficient natural light to read.
Laboratories:
There are separate labs for different faculties, as per the norms and standards of NCTE Govt of India and H.P. University, Shimla. Given below is the list of Labs available in the college.
Language Lab:
To teach the language courses and practice the phonetic skills with a sitting capacity of 8-10 students at a time.
Education Technology Lab:
The collage E.T. lab has all the required modern ICT Lab equipment that is used in the modern day teaching. The Lab consists of a Computer with Internet, Television with DTH Connection, DVD Player, Speakers, Radio, Tape recorder, Video, Camcorder, Digital Camera, Over Hand Projector, Slide/Filter Projector, VCR, Sanyo Digital Projector and mobile projector Screen, Photostat Machine, Loud Speaker and Microphone etc.
Psychology Lab:
The college Psychology Lab is equipped with the apparatus of experiments related to educational psychological intelligence Tests, Aptitude Tests, Creativity Tests, Personality Scales and Attitude tests etc.
Science Labs:
Institute has well equipped Science labs such as Physical Science lab, Life Science lab, Chemistry lab & Social Science lab with multiple sets of science apparatus to perform and demonstrate practical activities of the subject.
Computer Lab:
The Collage has a state of the art computer lab with 25 computer system that are networked to each other using Client-Server technology. Each system has Internet facility and all the necessary educational software have been installed in the system.
Yoga Hall:
Yoga has become an integral part of the lifestyle in the world today and so the room has special yoga mats and other yoga equipment to help channel the right energy of the students.
Indoor Games:
A special emphasis is laid on the indoor sport activities such as Carom Board, Chess, Table Tennis etc and a common hall is provided to undertake such sports activity.
Playground:
The Institute has a big playground where all the outdoor sport activities are undertaken.
Retiring room/Medical room:
For any sort of physical injury or ill health during the sessional work, provision for a special medical room has been made for the students.
Conference Hall:
The Collage has a big conference hall with a sitting capacity of 150 students at a time. Major seminars and co-curricular activities are held in this hall.
Guest Room:
The Institute has a fully furnished guest room with set of two bed rooms for parents & Guardians of the students.
Hostel:
Hostel Building of institute is under construction.
Canteen:
Institute has fully furnished canteen with sitting capacity of 50 students at a time. Fresh food and snacks are available during collage hour.
Institutional Publications:
Institute has annual publication called “SWASTIKA”, which is the collage magazine started from the session 2009-10.
